Jamie Alonge is a soulful, alternative singer-songwriter from L.A. with an uplifting message of personal growth and perseverance. Fusing the intensity of Imagine Dragons with the swagger of The Black Keys wrapped in a Maroon 5 groove, his only goal is to spread positivity and share sage wisdom stemming from a hard-earned life journey.

At 8 years old, Jamie was singing and strumming outlaw country-folk songs along side his cowboy step-father at night, while breakdancing and rapping with his peers during the day. Opposing genres would continue to inspire at 13 with the gifts of a turntable and drum set where alone in his room, he would spin his step-dad’s records reenacting Motown, southern and classic rock, 70’s singer-songwriters and 80’s pop. As a young man he soaked in the vibrant 90’s Alt-Rock and underground hip hop scenes simultaneously, fronting bands, writing songs and performing all over L.A.’s historical music venues.

A series of awakenings have molded Jamie into the raw and authentic singer-songwriter he is today. At 21, Jamie set out to Denver, Colorado to start a business with his two best friends. The plan was to get it started up, then quickly return to L.A. to continue pursuing a music career. However 7 months in, his childhood best friend and business partner took his own life, and Jamie was the one to discover the body. He stayed on for 4 more years until the misery of not having a music career, the emotions that he never dealt with, and the realization that he was spiritually bankrupt was too much to bare.

As the universe would have it, Jamie met Aaron Running-Hawk, an Oglala Lakota Sioux. There was an unspoken electric connection between the two, and Aaron became something of a spiritual mentor to Jamie, permitting him privileged access to various sweat-lodge and peyote ceremonies around Colorado and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the South Dakota badlands. The path to wisdom continued for Jamie when personally meeting the Dalai Lama on a book tour. Experiencing his philosophy of kindness made an indelible impression on Jamie and the music he would come to make. Encountering US Gold Medal martial artist, Master Christophe Clarke, who recognized a champion in Jamie, and taught him the healing art of Tai Chi, would be something of a finishing touch on Jamie’s profound transformation before returning home to re-start his musical journey.

After converting his garage into a bonafide home studio in 2017, Jamie has been experiencing an influx of creative inspiration by implementing a daily songwriting regimen with a focus on avoiding over-analysis and how to take an idea to a complete song rapidly. Within the first 6 months of this process, Jamie wrote 40 songs. Reoccurring themes such as the frustration of living in a greed-dominated world, over-coming depression, failure and fear, self-reflection and learning to love oneself and others, are a mainstay to his writing. With a clutch of new singles and videos, and a new era of unbridled creativity, Jamie is ready more than ever to spread love and uplift those feeling frustrated. “My music has always been about relating what I’ve learned from life to try and provide hope for people who are struggling.” - Jamie Alonge
